Safety is a big part of running a hire business ‚ you need to take every precaution to make sure that the children and adults aren't going to get hurt using your equipment. We strongly recommend that you use 16a IP44 rated extension cables. Standard UK 3 pin plugs and sockets do not have an IP rating and therefore should not be used outside.

What does IP44 mean?

IP = International Protection Rating.

First digit 4 = Ingress protection of solid objects up to 1mm in size (most wires, screws etc). Second digit 4 = Protection of the equipment inside the enclosure against harmful ingress of water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect.

HO7RN-F is a heavy duty rubber sheathed cable which is designed for use in applications subject to high levels of stress and in locations exposed to dry and damp conditions as well as in open air and wet industrial environments.
